NAFSA, the Association of International Educators, is an organization dedicated to promoting the exchange of students between universities worldwide. Since its creation in 1948 one of NAFSA´s main goals has been to encourage international education. One of the ways in which it does so is through the Annual Conference and Expo, which this year took place in Los Angeles, from May 25th to May 29th. MelonDistrict actively participated in the conference by being one of the 600 booths that made up the Expo Hall, with its goal to pursue more international alliances. MelonDistrict met with representatives from universities from all over the world and demonstrated exactly what they offer students in their student residence halls in Barcelona.

MELONDISTRICT ASISTE A NAFSA

NAFSA es una organización que se dedica a estimular el intercambio de estudiantes entre universidades por todo el mundo. Desde su inició en 1948 uno de sus objetivos principales ha sido fortalecer la educación internacional. Una de las maneras por las cuales hace esto es por medio de la conferencia anual de NAFSA, este año realizada en la ciudad de Los Angeles del 25 al 29 de Mayo. MelonDistrict participó activamente en la conferencia para crear más alianzas a nivel internacional, siendo uno de los 600 stands que formaron parte del Expo Hall. MelonDistrict se reunió con representantes de diversas universidades de todo el mundo y presentó lo que ofrece a los estudiantes en sus residencias de estudiantes en Barcelona.

Del 18 al 22 de Marzo se desarrolló el Saló de L’Ensenyament en la Fira de Barcelona.

El Salón permitió al estudiante contactar las universidades y entidades relacionadas con el mundo universitario y contestar a sus preguntas con relación a su futura carrera profesional.

MelonDistrict – Residencias de Estudiantes en Barcelona estuvo presente a través de los stands de sus Universidades y Escuelas partners como UPF, UB, ESEC, EAE, IED, ELISAVA y la BAU, para ofrecer a los estudiantes que vinieron de fuera de Barcelona una interesante alternativa de alojamiento en la ciudad.

From the 18th to the 22nd of March 2009 took place Saló de L’Ensenyament in the Fira of Barcelona. The convention enabled the students having contact with universities and entities related to the student world and answering to all the questions in relation with their future professional career.

MelonDistrict- Student Residence in Barcelona was there through its universities and schools partners stands like the UPF, UB, ESEC, EAE, IED, ELISAVA and the BAU to offer to the foreign students an interesting option of housing in the city.

La residencia de estudiantes MelonDistrict tendrá el honor de recibir a los participantes de próximo Festival Internacional de Música y Danza de Poble Sec que se realizará del 15 al 21 de julio del 2008 en distintas ubicaciones del barrio de Poble Sec en Barcelona.

Este festival busca mostrar las tradiciones ancestrales y seculares, musicales y danzadas, que identifican el sentimiento y la idiosincrasia de los pueblos del mundo. Es un festival dirigido a todas aquellas agrupaciones folklóricas que practican la danza tradicional de su país o región de origen.

2nd International Festival of Traditional Music and Dance in the Poble Sec neighborhood

MelonDistrict will have the honor of welcoming the participants of this year’s International Festival of of Traditional Music and Dance in the Poble Sec neighborhood that will take place from the 15th to the 21th of July at various locations in Poble Sec.

This festival represents ancient and secular traditions through music and dance by identifying the feelings and characteristics of different cultures throughout the world. This festival is celebrated by all folk groups who are experts at dancing their country or region’s traditional dance.
