Este festival busca mostrar las tradiciones ancestrales y seculares, musicales y danzadas, que identifican el sentimiento y la idiosincrasia de los pueblos del mundo. Es un festival dirigido a todas aquellas agrupaciones folklóricas que practican la danza tradicional de su país o región de origen.

2nd International Festival of Traditional Music and Dance in the Poble Sec neighborhood

MelonDistrict will have the honor of welcoming the participants of this year’s International Festival of of Traditional Music and Dance in the Poble Sec neighborhood that will take place from the 15th to the 21th of July at various locations in Poble Sec.

This festival represents ancient and secular traditions through music and dance by identifying the feelings and characteristics of different cultures throughout the world. This festival is celebrated by all folk groups who are experts at dancing their country or region’s traditional dance.

At the end of May in Washington, DC (USA), NAFSA (Association of International Educators) held its annual conference where all higher education executives throughout the world come together to meet. It’s main goal is to form global networks, primarily in the field of higher education, and MelonDistrict was present in order to be aware of new trends so as constantly improve the accommodation services we provide. MelonDistrict is an active member of NAFSA and is constantly trying to make ties with other members. We’ll be waiting anxiously for the next NAFSA conference in Los Angeles, California in 2009 (www.nafsa.org).

NAFSA (Association of International Educators) como cada año llevó a cabo a finales de mayo en la ciudad de Washington D.C. su conferencia anual en donde reúne a profesionales de la educación de todo el mundo. Su objetivo principal es crear redes de intercambio global, mayoritariamente en la educación universitaria, y MelonDistrict estuvo presente nuevamente al ser una empresa preocupada por complementar esta experiencia con un servicio de alojamiento de calidad.

MelonDistrict es un miembro activo de NAFSA y continuamente crea colaboraciones con sus otros miembros.

El equipo de MelonDistrict, siempre interesado en conocer las tendencias en el alojamiento para jóvenes, estuvo presente en el pasado encuentro organizado por el European Hostel Cooperation (EHC). En esta séptima edición tuvo como sede Barcelona durante los días 2 y 3 de Marzo.

La responsabilidad medioambiental, las nuevas tecnologías y la web 2.0 fueron algunos de los temas discutidos en el encuentro mediante las conferencias, talleres y espacios para el networking. Esperaremos las nuevas temáticas que abordarán en el 2009 para mantenernos actualizados.

MelonDistrict attends the “7TH EUROPEAN HOSTEL MEETING”

Because the MelonDistrict Team is always interested in finding out the latest developments and trends in accommodation for young travelers, we attended the “7TH EUROPEAN HOSTEL MEETING” organized by the European Hostel Cooperation (EHC). Already in it’s 7th year, Barcelona was the city venue of choice on the 2nd and 3rd of March.

Some of the issues discussed at the conference, workshops, and networking areas were environmental conservation, new technology, and the web 2.0 trend. We await the new topics that will be addressed in 2009, to keep us updated.

Hicieron acto de presencia las estaciones de esquí españolas, agrupadas en la Asociación Turística de Estaciones de Esquí y Montaña (ATUDEM) y algunas de las estaciones de la Asociación Catalana de Estaciones de Esquí y Actividades de Montaña (ACEM) anunciaron que abrirán el próximo fin de semana.

MelonDistrict estuvo allí para informarse acerca de las actividades que pueden interesar a sus residentes y de las empresas que las organizan para entrar en contacto con ellas..

Nivalia celebrated its 20th anniversary this year, setting the record for the most attendees to date

More than 18,000 visitors attended in order to find out the latest developments and trends in the sector.

Spanish ski resorts were also in attendance, along with the Tourist Association of Ski and Mountain Resorts (ATUDEM). Some of the Catalan Association of Ski Stations and Mountain Activity Resorts (ACEM) even announced they would open next weekend.

MelonDistrict was present in order to inquire about any interesting activities available to our guests and to find out more information about the companies organizing them.

Del 6 al 11 de noviembre de 2007 se celebró en la Fira de Barcelona, el Barcelona Meeting Point (BMP).

Actualmente, en España se celebran dos citas inmobiliarias con trascendencia internacional, la de Barcelona Meeting Point y el Salón Inmobiliario de Madrid. La importancia de ambas ferias se mide mejor, cuando se observa que junto al Mipim de Cannes y Expo Real de Múnich forman el conjunto de citas de mayor relevancia en toda la Unión Europea para el sector inmobiliario.

From November 6th to 11th 2007, the Barcelona Meeting Point (BMP) was held at the Fira de Barcelona.

Currently, Spain holds two internationally renowned real estate events, Barcelona Meeting Point and the Salon Inmobiliario de Madrid.

The importance of both fairs is better understood by the fact that beside the Mipim Cannes and the Expo Real in Munich, they belong to the most important group of events across the European Union for the real estate sector.
